Well, as most of you know, the passenger floor board has the “hump” there. After numerous complaints from friends, women, and others, I decided to delete the hump once and for all. My friend did all the work. A plasma cutter, air tools, and welder made the job relatively easy. I guess the hardest part of the job was making the carpet stretch and glue down properly.
The job basically consisted of:
- Plasma cutting the existing floor re-using as much of the stock metal as possible
- Modifying the frame rail
- Modifying the trans cross member
- Adding metal where needed
- Contact cementing the carpet down
Modified frame rail:
Modified trans cross member:
Welded and seam sealed:
Carpet glued down:
Gotta love the flatness!!!
